Roblox Games That Work With Controller

This Roblox game looks fun enough, however I wasn't able to figure out how to get it to work with my particular controller. This was frustrating and I spent about a half an hour trying trying to troubleshoot why. I don't recommend unless you are certain that is compatible with your particular controller/device. Roblox does have gamepad support, but mainly has support for an xbox controller. What's upsetting about this is that you cannot change the controls no matter how hard you try, which can make it very uncomfortable for some players. Phantom Forces is a first-person shooter Roblox game inspired by the Battlefield.

Every day on Roblox, millions of people are imagining, creating, and playing together across a myriad of devices ranging from smartphones to high-end computers and virtual reality headsets. While some gaming companies might design their games with one or two control schemes in mind, Roblox is unique in that we've built a flexible core code that allows creators to ensure their games will work right out of the box, regardless of device. As part of our ongoing mission to continually fine-tune the character and camera controls so they're best-in-class on every device, Roblox is excited to launch our all-new 'Comfort Cam' innovation for VR headsets.

Comfort Cam

Shortly after we shipped Roblox on Oculus Rift last year, our engineering team faced an interesting challenge: How can we design a better, more sophisticated camera and control system that would (a) provide players with a comfortable gameplay experience and (b) prevent giving VR players any advantages over players on other devices? Although teleport-to-move is a common tactic for (a), it's not ideal in a multiplayer environment. The VR player would travel a lot faster than players on non-VR devices, giving them a competitive edge. To account for both these conditions, we've developed an innovative solution—our patent pending Comfort Cam.

In order to provide the most comfortable experience in VR, we've made it so that the in-game camera will now remain stationary instead of following the player's avatar as he or she moves around. What happened to game crazy. As soon as the player stops moving, the camera automatically teleports to a new position. We found that by eliminating the potential for fast accelerations, we greatly reduced the level of discomfort a player might experience in VR.

You can still control your avatar using the d-pad or analog stick, and if you prefer, you can also manually reset the camera position while you're still moving with the Left Trigger. What's great about this control scheme is that it allows players to enjoy a comfortable VR experience with the widest set of possible hardware and it doesn't require developers to custom build their own VR controls. The Comfort Cam already works well with nearly every game or experience available on Roblox. Radial Menu

We've also added a few new highly requested features to make playing in VR even more accessible for everyone. First, you can now easily access all the important system settings by using the new VR Radial Menu. Just tap the Menu button to bring it up, then select one of the options using the laser pointer. Here, you can access the system menu which includes (starting from the top, going clockwise):

You'll also now be able to toggle VR Mode on or off while you have a Rift or Vive headset connected to your computer. If you want to switch between your computer monitor and the VR headset, launch a game and bring up the system menu (press ESC or click the hamburger menu button), then use the VR option to turn VR on or off.

HTC Vive Control Scheme

While mobile gaming has certainly been making improvements in recent years, there is still something very different about playing a game on a phone. Whether it be from lack of a controller or a smaller screen, the experience of a game will significantly change between a PC/console and a mobile device.

Roblox is one such game, though that doesn't mean that playing the game on mobile is bad. Far from it, in fact, as playing Roblox on your phone is incredibly easy with the right game, and allows you to play with your friends on whichever device they want to play on. Some games just have too much going on to really work well on the phone, while others can excel on it.

Are You Genius?

There is nothing easier to play on a phone than a trivia game, and that's exactly what Are You Genius? is. It's a simple IQ test that has you answering tons of questions to see how smart you are. All you have to do is answer the questions (hopefully correctly) which means that playing it on a phone won't be a hindrance at all.

Bee Swarm Simulator

Everything in Bee Swarm Simulator revolves around honey. It serves as the main currency of the game and you will spend all your time trying to figure out how to make as much of it as possible. Collecting honey will attract more bees, which will pollinate more flowers, this creating more honey. It's a cycle that you work on improving, while earning upgrades and more. It's a breeze to play on the phone with its easy-to-use controls.

Hide and Seek Extreme

Why not indulge in a classic game when you are playing on your phone? Not only is it fun to play, but Hide and Seek is basic enough to work great on your phone. All you have to worry about is moving around to either find a hiding spot or find all the hiders. There are power-ups and things you can unlock as well, but the core principle is a breeze to play and that extends to be played on a mobile device as well.

Murder Mystery 2

Murder Mystery works for playing on mobile thanks to its simple premise: a group of players interact with each other, all while a killer tries to take them all out and a sheriff tries to find the killer's identity. That's all there is to it, really, and you won't have to worry about having the best reflexes or responsiveness. Plus, the fact that the identities of the sheriff and killer are secret from everyone else, there is always some tension and excitement bubbling under the surface of every match.

Piggy

For you horror fans out there, Piggy is an honestly terrifying game that has you trying to escape from the titular killer. On the way, you can uncover mysteries and lore about Piggy, with some interesting tidbits to read up on. The game is tense and fun, especially when playing with a group. The controls are really just about crouching and interacting with things, something that has been accomplished with simple taps on your screen. It's perfect for a mobile device and offers a darker take on the Roblox formula.

Roville

This life simulator can be played solo or with friends, and it offers plenty of content to get into while also playing great on your phone. It puts you into a town and has you build your house, decorate it, visit with friends, interact with NPC's, and more. It's a Sims-esque experience and it's one that remains popular among the community for many, many reasons. Get a group together and you have yourself plenty of hours of solid fun ahead of you.

Controller Compatible Roblox Games

Speed Run 4

If you are looking for a competitive game that can still be played while on a phone, then Speed Run 4 is a perfect match. The game pits you against you against other players, including your friends, and has you race the clock to try and finish the obstacle course. The controls are minimal so you don't have to worry about navigating a touch screen to stay alive. It's fast-paced, it's easy to play, and most of all, it's fun.

Super Bomb Survival

In order to win this game, you just have to survive for couple minutes, all while bombs and other explosives rain down on you. That's it, and yet the game offers plenty of frantic, chaotic entertainment that has propelled to immense popularity among the Roblox community.

With the quick matches and basic systems at play, as well, it works great on a mobile device and is perfect for anyone who has some time to play while on-the-go.

Tower of Hell

This game pits you in a race to the top of a massive tower, full of obstacles and dangers to get in your way. Even worse, there are no checkpoints so you have to do it all in one run. It sounds intense, and there is certainly a level of competitiveness and tension to it, but it still is easy to play on a phone. The controls are easy to learn, the systems a breeze to figure out, and the game full of entertaining moments that will keep you coming back for more.

Work at a Pizza Place

Work at a Pizza Place has been in Roblox for awhile and has stayed in the public eye because of how well it's made. Having you in charge of running your own pizza place, the game plays out like The Sims meets Overcooked!, and that's a very good thing. It's easy to get into and won't be hampered by the limitations of a mobile device. And with plenty of roles that you can choose to work in, there is plenty of things for you to do.
